Up to 6.1 m3 load volume and 1,000 kilogram payload – that’s emission-free mobility with a long range and short refuelling time, especially for commercial use
The Vivaro-e HYDROGEN is based on the already available battery-electric Opel Vivaro-e, the “International Van of the Year 2021”. It has a hydrogen fuel cell drive with plug-in battery and can travel over 400 kilometres on a full tank (according to WLTP1). The 45 kW fuel cell delivers enough power for longer trips on the motorway. Refuelling with hydrogen takes three minutes. When starting or accelerating, the 10.5 kWh lithium-ion battery located under the front seats provides support to cover peak loads. In this way, the fuel cell system always works under optimal operating conditions. Thanks to the plug-in option, the battery can also be charged externally if required, so that the vehicle can cover 50 kilometres purely battery-electrically.
The drive technology is accommodated in such a space-saving way that the van does not compromise on space compared to conventional combustion vehicles. With a choice of up to 5.3 or 6.1 cubic metres, it offers just as much load space as the diesel or battery-electric Vivaro variants. The payload is up to 1,000 kilograms. The new Opel Vivaro-e HYDROGEN will be available in two lengths, M (Medium) and L (Large) (4.96 and 5.31 metres long).
Production will take place at Opel Special Vehicles (OSV) in Rüsselsheim.
