With a range of 756 kilometres, a performance similar to that of conventional combustion engines, space for kit and caboodle, and zero emissions – the NEXO is an SUV with all the usual convenience and no guilt.
The NEXO has a very self-confident appearance: with a continuous LED arc, the cascade grille typical for Hyundai, and retractable door handles. It is driven by a 120 kW (163 hp), 395 Nm torque electric motor. The motor gets its power from the fuel cell, supported by a small battery. This SUV accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.2 seconds. Its maximum speed is 179 km/h.
The three equal-size carbon tanks mounted under the boot floor and the rear seat hold a total of 6.33 kilos of hydrogen. The NEXO thus has the largest tank [capacity] of all available fuel-cell passenger cars and, thanks to an optimised drivetrain/power train, the longest range as well: 756 km.
