The energy price trend also affects the price of hydrogen (H2). From June 7, a kilogram of hydrogen will cost a uniform €12.85/kg (gross) at all H2 MOBILITY hydrogen filling stations. Despite the first price increase in more than ten years, the cost of driving a hydrogen car 100 km remains below that of comparable journeys using conventional fuels or a battery-electric car charging at public charging station*.

* At an average consumption of 0.8 kilograms of hydrogen (WLTP), the trip costs €10.28 per 100 km. An equivalent trip with gasoline or diesel and an assumed average consumption of 6.6 liters at a fuel price of €1.90 costs €12.54. Charging 19 kWh (average demand for 100 km) at a public charging station averages €11.21. (Source: ADAC 2022 and BMDV 2021)
