A great strength of the Nuremberg metropolitan region is its polycentric structure: the densely populated urban axis of Nuremberg-F\u00fcrth-Erlangen-Schwabach is surrounded by a dense network of further centres and strong administrative districts. The region therefore offers all the possibilities of a metropolis \u2013 but without the negative effects of a megacity.
