Landshut, 27 September | Today the Landshut district celebrated the official opening of the first H2 MOBILITY hydrogen station in the region. Manfred Singer, the builder\/owner of the filling station, welcomed numerous national and regional representatives from politics and business to this event, most notably Bavaria\u2019s Deputy Minister President and Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger, District Administrator Peter Dreier, and Landshut\u2019s Mayor Alexander Putz. In his welcoming speech, Singer talked about how the (hydrogen) filling station came to be, and thanked all the authorities, planners, and construction companies involved in this showcase project.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Singer explained why this particular location had been chosen: The new filling station, which besides hydrogen, naturally also offers all the conventional fuels and services of a modern filling station, is both easily accessible from the A92 motorway and quickly reached from Landshut city centre. \u201cWhy build a hydrogen filling station?\u201d Singer asked, and went on to give the answer: New energies and increased environmental awareness make it necessary to prepare for the future in this area. The Landshut region is in the process of establishing itself as the leading region in the use of hydrogen as an energy systems integrator. Offering hydrogen at filling stations thus contributes to climate protection and sustainability, and becomes as carbon-free as possible.<\/p>\n

The filling station was designed by the Manfred Singer group of companies in close coordination with H2 MOBILITY Deutschland GmbH & Co KG, who are represented in this project by co-partners OMV and Air Liquide. It was planned by the Passau architectural firm Mitschelen + Gerstl, and constructed within just nine months. The \u2018classic\u2019 filling station at the site is operated by EG Deutschland Retail & Energy GmbH, the hydrogen filling station by H2 MOBILITY Deutschland.<\/p>\n

There are currently nearly 100 public hydrogen filling stations in Germany, with another nine under construction. In addition, there are company refuelling stations that are not open to the public, as they serve to supply company vehicle fleets.<\/p>\n

Hydrogen filling stations are offered by several plant manufacturers in the high-pressure technology sector. At this time, the leading company is H2 MOBILITY Deutschland GmbH & Co KG, based in Berlin.<\/p>\n

Refuelling with hydrogen costs EUR 12.85 per kilogramme. Most fuel cell vehicles can cover a distance of around 100 km\/kg. Hydrogen tank in passenger cars usually contain between 4 and 6.3 kg of hydrogen.<\/p>\n

The hydrogen filling station in Landshut received EUR 600,000 in funding from the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport under its National Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Innovation Programme. The funding directive is coordinated by NOW GmbH and implemented by the J\u00fclich Project Management (PtJ) unit.<\/p>\n
