Stuttgart, 28 October 2021 | Today, the Minister President of the State of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg, Winfried Kretschmann, Nikolas Iwan, Managing Director of H2 MOBILITY Deutschland GmbH & Co.KG, and representatives of Daimler Truck AG, the Iveco Group, EnBW Energie Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg AG, Netze BW GmbH and the research institutes Fraunhofer ISI, Fraunhofer IAO and Fraunhofer ISE signed a joint letter of intent for a “Pilot Charging and Hydrogen Refuelling Infrastructure Project for Long-Range Trucks”.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Already in the vehicle test phase, both battery-electric and hydrogen trucks are to be supplied at the future filling station and accompanied scientifically. Among others, the technical equipment, layout, future viability of the infrastructure and refuelling standards will be examined. In parallel, a charging and refuelling station infrastructure strategy for the State of Baden-W\u00fcrttemberg will be developed and implemented at at least four additional locations.<\/p>\n

As the world’s largest hydrogen filling station operator, primarily for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, the signing today marks another important step for H2 MOBILITY Deutschland in the direction of hydrogen-based heavy-duty transport. The aim is to expand the network for passenger cars including the heavy-duty sector. Commercial vehicles cause about one third of the total emissions in the transport sector. Hydrogen offers a clean and quiet alternative with short refuelling times, long ranges and no restrictions on payload.<\/p>\n
